operations. From an operational perspective, the Hamilton
organization provides shared services support for all three
subsidiary companies in areas such as finance and accounting, human
resources, quality assurance, and information technology.
POSITION OVERVIEWReporting to our Assistant Controller the
Collections Associate will be a liaison between Hamilton's
companies and their customers. The Collections Associate will
perform collections calls daily and will resolve open A/R issues
related to collections. In a backup capacity, may assist with
credit application packages and incoming cash posting. This is a
three-to-six-month contract position.Primary responsibilities
include:
- Contacts customers by telephone for all Elevator Safety Company
(ELSCO), Air Techniques International (ATI) and Dirt Killer to
resolve open A/R issues related to collections.
- Updates accounting software and accounting reports regarding
the status of their collection's efforts.
- Provides internal status reporting of delinquent A/R balances
to managers and customer service associates of all entities, to
include regular meetings.
- In a backup capacity, responds to Customer Service requests
about releasing orders on credit hold throughout the day.
- In a backup capacity, prepares credit reference screening
packets for use in issuing credit limits to our customers including
running credit reports and calling credit references supplied by
the customer.
- In a backup capacity, collects or requests exemption
certificates from customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND
REQUIREMENTSMinimum Background and Skills Required:
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years' related accounting or finance experience.
- Experience doing outbound collections calls or customer service
calls
- Excellent administrative and computer skills, proficiency with
MS Office products
- Strong organization, time management and communication
skills
- Possesses a willingness to work on a team, collaborates well
with othersAdditional Background and Skills Preferred:
- Prior experience in a lean manufacturing environment
- Experience working with ERP systems PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Mostly sedentary work
- Visually reviews collections records up to 100% of the
time
- Uses repetitive hand and wrist motion to process vendor
payments and update collections records on the computer up to 90%
of the time
- Speaks with customers up to 95% of the time
- Listens to internal and external customers' requests up to 75%
of the time
