Job Description In this position, you will participate in BAE
Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will
Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP
Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside
experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career
development opportunities, and network with our business leaders
and the other students in the program.The OpportunityBAE Systems is
seeking a Summer 2025 Virtual Reality (VR) Engineering Intern with
a Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software
Engineering, or Computer Engineering background. Join our System
Visualization Team and become a member of a diverse, enthusiastic,
and highly productive team, where each employee has the opportunity
to grow their skills and work on rewarding projects. The selected
intern will contribute to VR visualizations and computer-aided
design (CAD) for the US/UK TRIDENT Submarine Strategic Weapon
System and US Attack Weapon System programs within a digital
engineering environment and leveraging model-based systems
engineering methodologies in support of the US Navy's Strategic
Systems Programs-a program that keeps our nation safe with a
credible sea-based nuclear deterrent. The selected candidate will
work closely with numerous engineering teams to support the
development of VR environments by performing the following
functions:
Test VR office environments using HTC
VIVE HMDs and 3D projection screensDevelop in Lua programming
language to create and maintain VR environmentsDevelop user
interactions in VR with custom GUIs and CAD modelsReview VR
environments and associated CAD modelsAssist engineers with VR
demonstrations to stakeholdersWho You Are

things get off trackRequired Education, Experience, & Skills
- Enrolled student at an accredited 4-year college / university
having completed a minimum of two years (Sophomore) by start of
internship
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or another engineering-related
major
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Lua, SQL)
- Knowledge of hardware / software integration and development
for augmented reality / VR
- Prior success with hands on 3D environments and CAD models
- Proficiency with CAD software (preferably Creo Parametric)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal
skills, and ability to work effectively with others
- Demonstrated self-starter with organizational, planning, and
follow-up skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint,
Excel)Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $48620 - $65670Please note: This
range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual
salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not
limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and
internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as
skills, education, and experience.Temporary employees generally are
not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate
in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours
per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance
