Job Description:

Duties * Assure that safety rules are followed, and tools and equipment are used properly. * Instruct employees in the development of modification and repair procedures. * Assign tasks to employees and check finished product for compliance with supervisor's instructions. * Oversee operations of alignment, integration and inspection of an air defense system. * Diagnose malfunctions in air defense systems using computer-controlled test stations. * Oversee testing on electrical, electronic, and mechanical hydraulic pneumatic systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * Must be willing to travel (TDY) up to 40% of the time. * Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. * Must be willing to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Can perform common Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic Leader duties such as passing on the supervisor's instructions to other workers and scheduling the daily workload. Can operate various testing equipment; and determine the correct trouble shooting methods to be used. Work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. * Ability To Lead or Supervise

* Use of Test Equipment: Electronics PHYSICAL EFFORT Requires moderate physical effort to lift and carry items weighing approximately 40 pounds. Required to stoop, bend, and stand for prolonged periods and some assignments require climbing 20 to 50 foot heights. WORKING CONDITIONS Works in well lighted, heated and ventilated shop areas or at missile site and is occasionally subject to inclement weather. Subject to cuts, bruises, burns and shock caused by high voltage energy and soldering irons.
