Job Description:

Soltesz is actively seeking a qualified licensed candidate to provide management and oversight to our Land Surveying department in our Lanham, Maryland office. SOLTESZ's survey department works on a variety of market sectors such as local land development, municipal, residential, commercial, and mixed use developments. The Director of Surveying will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and scheduling of survey field and office staff. This includes proposal and contract preparation and review. The Director will also be responsible for business development, project management, quality control, staffing, personnel, client relations, and financial performance.The following are the essential duties of the position:

• Coordinate with project engineers and project managers on field work requests
• Maintain quality control and quality assurance protocols
• Help advance efficiency through training and other means such as newer technology
• Manage and direct survey field crews
• Prepare proposals and presentations and manage survey projects
• Analyze and process boundary and ALTA Land Title Surveys and prepare legal descriptions
• Track project budgets and manage deadlines
• Work directly with clients to ensure scope and deadlines are met, addressing client needs and concerns The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying or a college degree preferred
  • Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Maryland required
  • 8+ years' progressive experience in land and topographic surveying, including crew management and oversight
  • Must be a strong communicator with clients and in-house project engineers/managers
  • Excellent written communication skills and self-motivation
  • Proficiency with MicroStation preferred, but not required
