  • ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Basic Life Support Certification within 6 months - Default Issuing Body
  • Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist RT(R)RCES - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
    • Job Details
    • Performs the daily procedures in the electrophysiology laboratory including catheter ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implants/removals/upgrades, tilt table tests, direct current cardioversions, cardiac lead extractions, electrophysiology studies and left atrial appendage closures
    • Practice of sterile technique preparing for procedure including scrubbing, applying surgical gown, gloving, draping and setup of instrument table
    • Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality
    • Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable)
    • Preparing and/or administering, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner
    • Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post processing of data if applicable
    • Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers
    • Assisting licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional cardiology procedures
    • Maintains and troubleshoots electrophysiology laboratory equipment to assure operability and safety; calibrates equipment and performs routine preventative maintenance procedures
    • Panning the procedure table during image production
    • Performing manual hemostasis during and after procedure
    • Operates and ensures the quality control of devices, electrocardiogram monitoring equipment/cardiac stimulator, oxygen consumption equipment, and blood analysis equipment
    • Initiates ACLS protocols as required for cardiac roles
    • Participates, as necessary, with ongoing clinical research trials pertinent to the electrophysiology laboratory
      • Job Requirements
      • Position requires graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Program and exam eligibility
      • IBHRE or RCES status required after two years of hire
      • RCES / RCIS preferred
      • OR - Applicants who hold an ARRT certification as a Radiology Tech are required to maintain the ARRT certification
      • Minimum of 1 year-related work experience (Preferred)
        • Schedule Information
        • Hours: 7am start time, potential for five 8 hour shifts or four 10 hour shifts
        • Weekends: None
        • Holidays: No Major Holidays
        • On Call: None
        • Travel: None
          • Additional Details
          • Your Agency's contract to your traveler MUST mirror the confirmation page
          • Start Date Must be Identical
          • End Date Must be Identical
          • All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission
          • Time off requested after the acceptance date, will not be approved
