- Job Details
- Performs the daily procedures in the electrophysiology
laboratory including catheter ablations, pacemaker and
defibrillator implants/removals/upgrades, tilt table tests, direct
current cardioversions, cardiac lead extractions, electrophysiology
studies and left atrial appendage closures
- Practice of sterile technique preparing for procedure including
scrubbing, applying surgical gown, gloving, draping and setup of
instrument table
- Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly
identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is
corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting
confidentiality
- Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical
factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care,
and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably
Achievable)
- Preparing and/or administering, as applicable, medications
through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a
licensed practitioner
- Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable
technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of
data, post processing of data if applicable
- Educating and monitoring students and other health care
providers
- Assisting licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and
specialized interventional cardiology procedures
- Maintains and troubleshoots electrophysiology laboratory
equipment to assure operability and safety; calibrates equipment
and performs routine preventative maintenance procedures
- Panning the procedure table during image production
- Performing manual hemostasis during and after procedure
- Operates and ensures the quality control of devices,
electrocardiogram monitoring equipment/cardiac stimulator, oxygen
consumption equipment, and blood analysis equipment
- Initiates ACLS protocols as required for cardiac roles
- Participates, as necessary, with ongoing clinical research
trials pertinent to the electrophysiology laboratory
- Job Requirements
- Position requires graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular
Technology Program and exam eligibility
- IBHRE or RCES status required after two years of hire
- RCES / RCIS preferred
- OR - Applicants who hold an ARRT certification as a Radiology
Tech are required to maintain the ARRT certification
- Minimum of 1 year-related work experience (Preferred)
- Schedule Information
- Hours: 7am start time, potential for five 8 hour shifts or four
10 hour shifts
- Weekends: None
- Holidays: No Major Holidays
- On Call: None
- Travel: None
- Additional Details

- All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of
