Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse in Observation/MS/Tele Unit

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for our 9W Observation/MS/Tele unit. This position requires a commitment to night shifts, with a work schedule of 36 hours per week. Start dates are available on 4/14 and 4/28.

Position Details:

Shift Ratio: 1:5
Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years
First-Time Travelers: Accepted with manager input

Certification Requirements:

Required: BLS
Preferred: ACLS, NIHSS

Additional Requirements:

Weekend Shifts: Required depending on contract length, every third weekend
Float Requirement: Must be willing to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity levels

Required Skills:

Cardiac Telemetry, on-unit monitoring
Use of Rapid Response Teams
Post MI care
Feeding tube care and management
Genitourinary/Renal care
Accessing Ports, Central line care/management
Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management
Heparin Protocols, CVA management
External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
Nasal Cannula, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank
Non-invasive airway management
Tracheostomy Management
Isolation Precautions
Wound Care/Wound Vac

Preferred Skills:

Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias
Post Cardiac Angiogram care
Pre/Post Cardiac Cath care
Ortho trauma management
Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac
Interpretation of ABGs

Patient Diagnosis:

The unit caters to observation and admitted patients, including cardiac observation cases. Patients may undergo cardiac Cath or stress tests. Common diagnoses include syncope, chest pain, TIA, ETOH, and UTI. Approximately half of the unit's patients are discharged within 24 hours following testing.

Additional Information:

Flu vaccine is mandatory for all employees.
Potential exposure to Covid patients.
