Position Title: VP/D Principal Software Engineer

Location: Baltimore, MD
Duration: 6 months contract with possible conversion to FTE
Work Arrangement: Hybrid position, days in office TBD
Pay Range: US $95.00 - $110.00 per hour

Who we are looking for / Requirements:
10+ years in full-stack and middleware development within large-scale, highly integrated enterprise systems.
Expertise in CI/CD, distributed architecture, ATAM, test strategies, and technology optimization.
8+ years with SCRUM/Agile methods; 7+ years in solution and enterprise design for cloud-native and on-prem environments.
5+ years hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerized environments (Kubernetes, OpenShift, EKS).
5+ years architecting high-impact, responsive applications.
Experience with Java, Angular, Node.js, JavaScript, SQL, NoSQL, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, message queues.
Experience with ELK stack, CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Urban Code Deploy), and IBM legacy systems (zSeries/iSeries).
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred) or equivalent experience.

Performance Objectives / What you'll be doing
Guide enterprise and application architecture with actionable recommendations for leadership and teams.
Design and implement solutions across distributed, legacy, on-prem, and cloud-native environments, incorporating Agile, BDD, APIs, Microservices, and containerization.
Provide technical expertise in planning, execution, and management of custom core applications.
Develop architecture strategies, best practices, proof of concepts, and efficiency improvements.
Create documentation to communicate technology strategies to executive leadership.
Support DevOps, monitoring, alerting, KPIs, and testing initiatives.
Develop architectural prototypes to mitigate risks in new solutions.
Ensure applications meet enterprise standards for design, testing, documentation, and maintenance.
