ABOUT THE ROLE
To supervise and coordinate the daily activities in the plant Labratory, meeting all safety, quality and production targets as indicated by the company. Performs quality control tests for the specific product line in accordance with established local or national standards.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
• Responsible for the safety of employees in the Plant Labratory with constant follow up throughout the day.
• Be a safety leader and drive housekeeping efforts in the Lab. Ensures that Laboratory meets & maintains AMRL & State Certifications .
• Designs Asphalt Mixes for State , Federal , and FAA to be submitted for Aprroval for those Agencies .
• Communication with Plant Supervisor to maintain Mixes in Specifications , and if necessary advise Plant Supervisor if changes are needed to the mix .
• Compliance with all safety policies, procedures and applicable laws.
• Proper reporting on accidents / incidents assuming follow-up as per procedure.
• Ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures and standards (ASTM, internal targets and limits), as they pertain to this position. Example of policies can be found in the quality assurance manual.
• Do follow-up on out of spec material and corrective actions taken to bring back into specs.
• Carries out ongoing lab and field sampling. Testing to ensure that material produced and shipped meet State, project and customer specifications and expectations. Failure to do so will result in rejection of products that could produce significant negative impact to (1) Market Area financials and (2) Holcim's image in the marketplace.
• Assist with the development, administration, implementation and documentation of material control plans and related material performance data, procedures and project-specific quality control.
• Perform some service, repair, and calibration of laboratory and field testing equipment on a timely basis.
• Carries out regular updates to appropriate Quality Control and Quality Assurance test databases and spreadsheets and provide report summaries or analyses as needed.
• Able to learn the basic operations of asphalt plants and asphalt paving.
• Provide troubleshooting guidance and advice, for various customers both internal and external. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  Education: High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of equivalent experience
  Required Work Experience:
  3-5 years, Minimum 5 years related experience in a supervisory role. Experience in asphalt facility or other heavy industry is highly preferred.
  Additional Requirements:
  --- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal
  Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
