Contribute:Customer-facing senior technical team representative
focused on Tier 1 IP network solutions. This position requires a
very strong understanding of Ciena Solutions and customer
applications. It is a highly technical role, providing post-sales
support of Ciena products. This SME will be responsible for
providing assistance to customers and other Ciena regional
engineers performing technical tasks, including development of test
plans, lab proof of concepts, demos and software upgrades. Must be
able to gather and understand solution requirements, work with
internal organizations to develop strategies, solutions and
technology options to present to customers.The Must Haves:
- Support the customer in their daily activities (e.g., lab
certification, product introduction, migrations)
- Thoroughly engineer Ciena solutions for advanced customer
applications across Tier 1 networks
- Serve as expert technical customer contact for advanced
technical issues; be capable of addressing large majority of
customer questions
- Manage customer requests and help coordinate technical
activities
- Assist in assessment of potential product features, providing
input on prioritization
- Assist in tracking of product deliverables and communicating
issues to other Ciena regional teams
- Assist in product acceptance test planning, coordination and
test result reporting
- Makes independent decision on routine technical activities in
accordance with company policy and procedures
- Minimal travel required
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of Data Networking, Carrier Ethernet, IP/MPLS,
IGP/BGP routing, Segment Routing, L3VPN and EVPN
- Knowledge of 4G/5G wireless networking, xRAN, and
front/mid/backhaul network systems including network
synchronization
- Familiarity with automation (e.g. python, ansible), analytics
in networking operations
- Familiar with next Gen management interfaces including
NETCONF/YANG, gRPC, gNMI, etc
- Familiarity with test equipment (packet capture tools, traffic
generators, power meters, etc)
- Strong PC and Unixskills are required including general
knowledge of computers, MS Office applications and Unix operating
environment. Software programming and scripting is a plus.

application of advanced networking solutions
- Ability to learn essential Ciena product Portfolios
- Ability to conduct professional customer meetings, understand
their networks, applications, and construct technical solutions to
meet those requirements.

- BSEE or similar Technical Degree; or relevant work
experience
- 8+ years telecommunications industry experienceThe annual pay
range for this position is $97,000 - $155,000

accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market
conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products,

locations are available.Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a
discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be
